Crazy Wedding Ideas

So a few weeks ago I was out for dinner with a few of my friends. We had a very interesting conversation about Sam's wedding. This is a brief summary of that conversation.

Me: So how is the wedding planning?

Sam: Everything is going pretty smoothly....except for one minor detail....
Arron wants a mechanical bull at the reception.
---
All Girls: *horrified gasps, a few giggles and some confused expressions*
---
Sam: He's completely serious about it, too. We actually had a fight over it.
---
Melissa: But.....You wont let that happen.....will you?
---
Sam: Of course not! Besides, our venue wont allow it.
---
All Girls: *sigh of relief *
---
Sam: But I might have to compromise and let him have one at the rehearsal dinner....

We were all very glad to hear that there would be no bull at the reception. I must admit, I am sort of hoping that they have one at the rehearsal dinner. I am most anxious to try it... Let's just hope nobody injures themselves the night before the wedding. The last thing we want is our bride to use crutches down the aisle!

So now I can't help but wonder about other crazy wedding ideas. Anybody have any similar stories? Any crazy ideas you or your fiance had during planning? I would love to hear about them!

Beach Inspired Wedding

I am very fortunate to live in San Diego about 20 minutes away from the beach. San Diego beaches are the host to many weddings and it's easy to see why...the beaches here are beautiful! So of course, I had to make a beach inspiration board! Enjoy!

Shoes: A Splash of Color

I absolutely love the colored wedding shoe trend! It is such a fun way to showcase your personality and add a bit of color to your dress! Looking at all these great pictures makes me wish I had thought about it before I decided on the white sandals I wore for my big day. Carnival Inspired Wedding

Including Pets in Your Wedding

In recent years more couples are making an effort to include their furry friends in their wedding. It's not surprising since most people consider animals to be a part of the family. And who wants to exclude a close family member from their wedding?

Personally, I love the idea, it makes for some seriously great photo opportunities! However, there some things that should be considered before you decide to make your pet a part of your big day.

Temperament
Is Fido well behaved? How is Fluffy going to react to being around a large group of people?
It's very important to think about your pet's personality. If your pet is friendly and outgoing, you shouldn't have much of a problem. But if you have a pet that is easily frightened and not very sociable then you might want to rethink this option. Do what is best for your pet.

Training
Does your dog know basic commands?
Now you don't need Lassie at the end of your leash, but it is important for your dog to have good behavior. A dog should at least be able to follow a few commands such as "sit," "down," and "stay." You don't want your dog to disrupt your big day. These are simple commands that can be taught with a little bit of time and patience.

Venue/Officiant
Is your officiant a pet lover? Does your venue allow pets?
These are things you need to look into ahead of time. Get permission before you make plans to bring along your pet. You definitely don't want your pet to be denied entrance to the wedding the day of.

So if your pet is sociable, well-behaved, trained and your venue allows pets...Then you should definitely consider making Fluffy a bridesmaid!!

Pink is my favorite color.
Pink is the color my friend Sam has chosen for her upcoming wedding.
Black & pink were the colors for my own wedding.

Non-Traditional Centerpieces

This post is inspired by my good friend Samantha who will be getting married August 13, 2010. She is going to be using Edible Arrangements for her centerpieces (Yum!). This unique idea got me thinking about other centerpieces, particularly ones that did not include flowers. I searched around a bit and found a wide array of beautiful and unique centerpieces.
